Paper quilling is an ancient art form, created by rolling, looping, curling, and twisting colored paper strips. Its origins can be traced back to ancient Egypt. During the Renaissance in the 16th century, paper quilling became more refined in France and Italy. At that time, nuns and friars in monasteriesused paper strips to roll and shape into various patterns to decorate holy paintings and reliquaries.
Driven by a passion for paper quilling, three talented enthusiasts-- Dora, Zoey, and Tina, came together to establish the SCIE Paper Quilling Art Club. This vibrant club serves as a platform where people can collectively propagate and popularize the art of paper quilling while also fostering connections across different civilizations by making and combining different styles of artwork.
